it’s about us is all about helping those who have been affected by cancer. Every person’s cancer journey is unique and trying to leave a legacy of memories during a difficult time may be too overwhelming.
We developed a digital scrapbook for you to customise and create something relevant and meaningful. Providing inspiration through simple, personalised template style pages will allow you to capture your memories, emotions and feelings, through text and photos within a supported framework.
We’re trying to make things that little bit easier and hope to make a difference to people who really need it. Our aim is to help you, your family and friends create a way to capture and treasure precious memories.
COMPANY
it’s about us is a not-for-profit company based in Sydney, Australia. We work with a number of health care professionals. These include: Breast Care Navigators, Clinical Psychologists, Grief and Bereavement Counselors, Marketing and PR experts, Creative Directors and Cancer Patient focus groups.

WHAT'S ON - WRITING WORKSHOPS
We are running free "Writing as Therapy Workshops" for anyone affected by Cancer. These run over a 5 week period online. Each week, in a small supportive environment, you will learn about how to use the software, writing strategies and tips as well as hear presentations from a number of professionals in the cancer space. These include, a Psychologist, Dietician, Sleep Coach, Exercise Physiologist and patients.

PEOPLE
it’s about us was the vision of Associate Professor Gavin Marx. This project was inspired by his patients’ courage, wisdom, insights and clarity of what truly is important and meaningful. Jo Marx has worked in marketing and advertising for many years and wanted to use those skills to help provide a beneficial and meaningful tool for cancer patients. Desray Maltz was diagnosed with DCIS in 2013. Understanding the lack of a resource like it’s about us being available, she joined the team to help make it happen.

There is an increase in people being diagnosed with cancer, too many with young families. Being a mum with young children I can't imagine how difficult this must be. it’s about us is a way to reach out to those going through a very challenging time. Working part time as a strategic planner, the rest of my time is spent developing it's about us and looking after my very special family. I love travelling, dabbling in interior design and taking infinite photographs.GAVIN MARX
A/Prof Gavin Marx is a medical oncologist practicing at the Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAN). He is also a visiting oncologist at the Northern Cancer Institute Frenchs Forest. He is the director of the SAN Clinical Trials Unit and Clinical Director of the SAN Integrated Cancer Centre, and an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. It has been a privilege to work with my patients at such a pivotal time in their lives. It is my wish that it's about us provides a valuable instrument for communication and connection between patients and their families.DESRAY MALTZ
After working at various schools across Sydney as a primary and special needs teacher, I recently chose to focus my energies on caring for my three young children. I volunteer at their school and enjoy cooking, a good cup of coffee and spending time with family and friends. Working on it’s about us has given me the opportunity of meeting some very inspirational people. It has been a truly humbling and rewarding experience. My hope is that it’s about us will touch the lives of people and families affected by cancer.ABOUT THE BOOK

2. Start your it's about us photo book by clicking 'Photo Books' and then the it's about us button
3. Use the it's about us embellishment pack in your photo book
4. Upload and order your book via the Momento website
